Boasting 800 km of mountain bike routes, the famous sports town in the heart of the Alps leaves nothing to be desired. The selection is huge: action-packed trails, crisp mountain tours or leisurely cycle tracks are waiting for you.
If you know Kitzbühel only as winter sports destination and from the Hahnenkamm Race, then you should change that soon. The gentle mountain landscape of the Kitzbühel Alps with its countless forest and alpine pasture trails is perfect for mountain biking and offers quite something. Over 800 km of tours are waiting for you around this charming small town. The region is also the starting point of the Tyrol Bike Trail. Featuring 32 stages and 1,000 kilometres, this is the longest continuous circular MTB route in the Alps. Many huts along the route offer opportunities to stop for refreshment.
If you like challenges, then you should go and tackle the panorama road of the Kitzbühel Horn. The Horn is known as Austria’s steepest cycle mountain and is quite an experience. But there are more leisurely options. As part of the world’s largest E-bike region, Kitzbühel boasts a great number of hire and battery changing stations.
