Approved Bike Area

The Mountain Bike Holidays regions have received the only seal of approval for bike regions for the upcoming bike season. Only regions that meet the quality standards specified by Mountain Bike Holidays are entitled the use the title Approved Bike Area.

To ensure best quality and service on your mountain bike holiday, strict criteria and conditions have been developed for the Mountain Bike Holidays regions, which they can meet in addition. If a region complies with the special standards then they are awarded with the title Approved Bike Area, the only seal of quality for mountain bike regions.

Our regions can be assessed in the categories Tour & Trail, Easy & Family and Enduro & Parks.

The certification process is always divided into the following three areas:

Professionalism & information material
Topic-specific services
Review of services on site

A total score of 300 points could be achieved. Depending on the points achieved, the regions could receive between three to five stars. The stars were allocated as follows:

5 stars: 300-280 points
4 stars: 280-260 points
3 stars: 260-240 points

More and more regions apply for the test to become an Approved Bike Area and to be among the first certified bike regions in the Alps.

Approved Bike Area - Tour & Trail

The regions awarded with the Approved Bike Area Quality Seal for Tour & Trail are experts in mountain biking as core area. You can expect for example:

A wide range of tours with all levels of difficulty
Transport of bikes on public transport or mountain railways
Excellent advisory expertise in the area of mountain biking

Approved Bike Area - Enduro & Parks

The Approved Bike Area Quality Seal for Enduro & Parks stands for excellent competence in this area. The regions must satisfy various criteria, including:

15 different tour programmes for enduro & park bikers with various levels of difficulty
Lift facilities that provide transport for mountain bikes and enable access to at least 5 routes
Tools, cleaning area and lockers near the lift facilities
