The two qualified bike guides are available to answer any biking questions. To me, every single tour is special because being out and about in nature is what matters to me. I always have a smile on my face as long as I can be on my bike.
I am a born mountain biker because I got my first bike when I was 3 years old. It was a 12` BMX Rog and I still have it at home in our garage. I just can’t let go of it because it has accompanied me for such a long time. I actually broke it when I jumped down some stairs with it. I got my first mountain bike when I was 7 years old. Everything was about jumps and trails from then onwards.
My life changed completely in 1995. Back then, my father Dixi decided to open Slovenia’s first hotel specialised in mountain bikers and also founded the Bike Nomad tourism agency. Mountain biking has been a firm part of my daily life ever since.
I have always been an adrenalin junkie, wanting to try crazy things. For example, I “forced“ my parents to let me be the forerunner in a downhill race my father had organised. From that moment onwards, this was everything I could think about. Between the age of 15 and 18, I competed in the Slovenian Downhill Cup. I always dreamed of earning a living with mountain biking. At 18, I accomplished my first guide training with OTC UK. Later on, I was awarded the Mountain Bike Instructor Award of the Slovenian Cycling Association and the Tour Guide Award of the Slovenian Hiking Association. And this is how my career as professional mountain bike guide started. I have gained my experience from guiding, teaching, competing in races and by organising events. Mountain biking became the air that I breathe.
I am now member of the Slovenian Cycling Association and the European Organisation of Mountain Bike Instructor-Guides (with members from France, Switzerland, Slovenia, the Netherlands, Poland, Norway, Germany and the United Kingdom).
In the past 8 years, I have spent much time building trails in our Jamnica Single Trail Park. We have managed 20 kilometres so far! Diddie Schneider and I look after everything to do with mountain biking. Our current project is the new “Petzen Thriller” trail, which we continue to build this year.
Being a father of two really wonderful children is what I am most proud of. Ivo (4.5) and Aria (1.5) have accompanied me already on one or the other mountain bike trail. What can I say - they have mountain biking in their blood!
To me, mountain biking is a way of life. I love it so much because it gives me the feeling of endless freedom. I am happy when I can shred trails with my friends or pro riders or guides from around the world. But biking with my wife and children makes me happy too.

Start der Tour: Bike-Base – Eco-Hotel Koros. Podpeca (Unterpetzen) ist ein Berg-Tal unter Petzen/Peca, wo auch der König Matjaz, einer Legende zufolge, schlafen soll. Die Tour verläuft von Jamnica bis Petzen auf einer Forststraße entlang der Panorama-Gebirgskämme. Nach einem, mehr oder weniger steilen, 5km langem Aufstieg bis zum „Štenge“, kommen wir bis Podpeca, wo uns vor vielen Jahren Bergmänner eine Reihe von Single-Trails hinterlassen haben. Diese Tour findet vor allem auf Waldstraßen und Wegen statt, kann aber mit dem Aufstieg zur Berghütte auf Mala Peca (+ 18 km, +1.000h.m.), mit Underground Biking oder einigen Single-Trails kombiniert werden. Für diese Tour gibt es mehrere Varianten der Länge und Schwierigkeit.
