What to expect on a cycling holiday in the Kitzbühel Alps

Wide valleys, gentle grassy hills and an extremely dense network of cycle routes characterise the Kitzbühel Alps – combined with a unique alpine backdrop. Immerse yourself in a region with a vibrant history of alpine sports. From a leisurely cycle ride across the wide valley floor, past old farmhouses, to a gruelling mountain tour following the KitzAlpBike route – on a mountain bike holiday in the Kitzbühel Alps, anything is possible. And much more besides. Here, you’ll experience the Alps with plenty of flow – and a particularly direct entry into the alpine mountain biking adventure.

From 2026, the new KAT Bike Star Tour will set new standards as an additional highlight: you’ll explore the Kitzbühel Alps on star-shaped stages from a fixed base – and return comfortably to your hotel every day. This new form of cycling holiday combines sporting variety with maximum comfort and makes the region even more flexible to explore. This makes a cycling holiday in the Kitzbühel Alps the perfect blend of freedom, structure and an alpine nature experience.

Experience the longest MTB circuit in the Alps

A very special highlight awaits you on the unique Bike Trail Tirol: with 32 stages and over 1,000 kilometres, it is considered the longest continuous mountain bike circuit in the Alps. Along the way, you’ll stop off at traditional mountain huts at the numerous rustic alpine inns – Tyrolean cuisine and cosy conviviality are always part of the MTB experience here.

The approximately 27,000 metres of elevation gain make the Bike Trail Tirol an epic transalpine adventure – ranging from family-friendly to challenging. Thanks to the flexible loop system, you decide where to start and how many of the main routes and regional trails you want to tackle. A modern alpine MTB network rather than a classic long-distance route: perfect signposting throughout Tyrol makes it possible.

I know all about biking and, as a trained bike guide, I enjoy accompanying my guests on tours myself. As a member of the mountain rescue service and the avalanche commission, I know the region like the back of my hand. I am supported by the Bikeacademy.

As your host at the Bikehotel Klausen, I am not only responsible for the culinary delights in the hotel as a chef, but also for the bike expertise as a state-certified bike guide. I am supported by the Bikeacademy with 6 guides directly in the hotel.

For me, biking is more than just a sport - it's joie de vivre. I want every guest to leave the Kitzbühel Alps with a big smile on their face - and perhaps with a few new favourite trails in their luggage.
