Both bike parks have been imaginatively carved out of the wild, unspoilt forests by local cycling enthusiasts. In the Kranjska Gora Bike Park, near the Austrian-Italian border, you can tackle 20 km of varied trail combinations through the dense forest. From technically demanding downhill and freeride to easy family flow trails, Slovenia’s first bike park has it all. To get started, take the bike chairlift – with views of the impressive mountain scenery and the historic ski resort. The small but excellent Bike Park Bovec in the heart of the Soča Valley also caters to all skill levels: the 1.4 km-long Airline offers endless jumps; the Jungle Line takes you on a flowing 1.3 km ride through the dense greenery.
