Approved Bike Area

The standard for mountain bike regions

In order to guarantee you the best possible quality and performance on your mountain bike holiday, strict criteria and requirements have been developed that the Mountain Bike Holidays regions can also fulfil. If these special standards are met, the region is recognised as an Approved Bike Area, the only seal of quality for mountain bike regions.

  • Professionalism & information material
  • Theme-specific services
  • On-site inspection of services

Our bike regions can be rated in the categories Tour & Trail, Easy & Family and Enduro & Parks.

A total of 300 points are awarded. Depending on the number of points achieved, the regions can achieve three to five stars. The stars are awarded according to this division:

  • 5 stars: 300-280 points
  • 4 stars: 279-260 points
  • 3 stars: 259-240 points

All Mountain Bike Holidays regions undergo the test to become an Approved Bike Area and thus count among the certified bike regions in the Alps.
