Here at the Tauernhof, you meet 25 years of bike competence. Aim was and is to combine an active holiday experience in the Alps with fine cuisine. After 25 years as bike hotel, we are now even more dedicated, passionate and love what we do. In addition, there is a good portion of competence, experience and perfection.
The Tauernhof Sport & BikeCamp team comprises of a good mix of locals, sports coaches and mechanics – all of them are qualified MTB guides. Our guides are just as diverse as our guests, thus there is a perfect guide for every guest.
Biking is no longer the central theme just at Bike Hotel Tauernhof, the entire Flachau region is now dedicated to this topic. The network of bike routes is constantly extended and enhanced. Flachau has been the access point to Roland Stauder’s 123 kilometres long Stoneman Taurista, where you bike across 4,500 altitude metres, since 2018. Our bike hotel offers of course a pick-up service should you decide to go on one of the multi-day Stoneman tours. Some of the classics are the tour to the Frauenalam and the Wagrain Bike Park. Bike Night Flachau is a unique floodlight bike event of the superlative and is staged every year in August.

Vorbei an der Galerie Vogelmühle, geht es los mit den ersten Höhenmetern - erst Asphalt danach auf Schotter. Oben angekommen, führt der Weg über einen kurzen Trail direkt zum Sattelbauer. Der Blick zum Dachsteinmassiv und zum Hochkönig ist das ganz Spezielle an der Lage des Sattelbauers. Die Küche der Wirtin und die Witze des Wirtes Leo tragen den Rest zu einer gelungenen Einkehr und Pause bei. Ein Abstecher vom Sattelbauer hoch zur Lackenalm bringt als Variante zusätzliche Würze in die Angelegenheit - vor allem, wenn man sich bergab mit dem feinen Trail belohnt, der die Forststraße immer wieder kreuzt. Angelangt an der Hauptstraße geht es zurück ins Funsport- & Bikehotel Tauernhof.
