Children play an important role at the Hotel Alpenrose and therefore they are the ones who decide that they want to … go to Lermoos with dad and mum. And usually, dad takes his mountain bike and mum takes her new book, and everyone is happy. The number of biking dads in the children’s hotel is increasing each year.

Andreas Fischer he is our resident mountain biking expert. He has been a mountain biker for many years and comes under the “leisure biker” umbrella. He likes to ride up to a cosy Alpine inn in the sun, complete with panoramic view and tasty refreshment! He has recorded all tours that the Hotel Alpenrose offers to its guests as GPS data.

Georg Mott, boss of Bikeguiding Zugspitzarena, and his colleagues, have been biking nearly every day for 12 years, on guided tours. The Tiroler Zugspitzarena, as a base for fantastic bike tours in all directions of the compass, has developed to a true “bike mecca” in the Alps. Each week there are 18 different tours on the programme for beginners up to experts, or in other words: leisure, dream, and extreme tours.

Countless single trails, often only known to the guides, will get your adrenaline pumping. The weekly technical training will give you the skills needed.

It really is an expert team! Guests are thrilled by the knowledge of the guides about the region and safe riding, as well as their sociability. They motivate, happily share their experiences, and are real party animals.

Tips from leisure biker Andreas Fischer:
The romantic bike tour to the Eibsee lake, moderately difficult, 950 vertical metres and 40 km. You can enjoy a fabulous panorama and can have something wonderful to eat at the Hochthörle Hütte. Romantics will enjoy a picnic at the lake with tasty morsels from their bike rucksack.

The two downhill stretches offer a special thrill element. You can hire suitable bikes and equipment in the bike rental and takeoff with your bike in the lift to start your adventure. The only way is down! You can, though, decide between extreme and a little less extreme!
