We, the Tschohl family, have been running the Montafoner Hof as a family business since 1987. We were always interested in a lot of things, going under the motto of “being able to do everything, but not having to do anything”, and a few years ago, on the initiative of the Montafon tourism, we integrated mountain biking into our hotel programme.

Our guests greatly appreciate the personal care of our family, and of course that applies seven days a week. The biking guests love our tips and tour suggestions. To enable us to have sufficient time for this individual service, we employed the services of the biker Markus Fessler-Jenny and his experienced Active Park bike guides. Since Markus was 18, he has biked all over the Montafon area and knows the region like almost no other. Today he runs the Bike Basis in the Active Park and leads tours. Our guests love riding with him, because, as well as his experience and bike expertise, he has a good sense of humour and has many stories to tell of his biking experiences.

Biking at the Montafoner Hof
The Montafoner Hof offers anything a biker could want. The Bike Basis is only a few metres away from the hotel, and when the guides come into the hotel for the “biker meeting”, it’s something not to be missed. Our guests look forward to the new programme each week.

The guides try to fill all the expectations and wishes of the biking guests 16 hours a day. For guests who do not have a bike, or simply want to try out something new, there are various rental bikes available in Montafoner Hof, and there are a further 70 bikes available in the Active Park.

Guided Tours
The Montafon area has 860 km of biking tracks, so it’s not difficult for the Active Park to put together a varied programme. From the start of May to the end of October, guided tours of varying difficulty take place from Sunday to Friday in 2 different ability groups. In this way, athletes, high-performance bikers, and leisure bikers can have a great time.

The local guides know the region and the trails off by heart, and will also show you one or two insider tips. The numerous mountain huts offer culinary delights. One of Markus’ insider tips is the border crossing tours in the border triangle of Austria, Germany and Switzerland.
