Resident biker
I, Klaus Irsara, am responsible for the bike expertise in the hotel Melodia del Bosco. As a mountain lover, passionate mountain biker and road biker, I know my way around this area very well. The tours are either led by me or by the qualified guides from the Dolomite Biking Guide team.
The bike expertise in the Hotel Melodia del Bosco is Klaus
Irsara himself.
I myself, Klaus Irsara, am a 360° mountain lover.
Whether by foot, by mountain bike, or road bike, I love being in the mountains!
Even just the view of the Dolomites, also known as “the pale mountains” is an experience in itself.
Riding on demanding single trails at the foot of these rock faces is an absolute highlight for me. I feel a real sense of joy when I reach one of the Dolomite passes after lots of effort, wet with sweat, and with the smell of the road in my nose (like only a biker can experience). As soon as the breathtaking panorama opens up in front of me, all the effort is forgotten, and the scenic beauty takes its place.
Mountain biking and road biking have been my favourite sports for years. In 2010 our hotel became a member of “Mountain Bike Holidays” and “Roadbike Holidays”. This has given me the motivation to bring the biking that we offer to a top level. So, I became a qualified mountain bike guide in 2009, and will soon also be a mountain biking instructor. The tours I have chosen are either led by me or by one of our young, local mountain bike guides from the “Dolomite Biking Guide” team.
The highlight of our tours is surely the
Sellaronda.
Riding around the impressive Sella massif is a must for every passionate biker,
whether mountain biker or road biker. You do the classic variant by road bike.
History has been written on these passes in the epic duels of Bartali and Coppi
in the Giro d’Italia.
The Sellaronda by mountain bike is a somewhat “different” tall. Mountain bike freaks shouldn’t be deceived by the relatively small amount of vertical metres. It is true that the large ascents are done with the help of lifts, but there is no lack of technical highlights as far as riding is concerned. It is a whole day tour and the guide will choose suitable passages according to the ability of the bikers.
I am available at any time with tips and advice, and will gladly help you with your holiday planning. There is nothing stopping you having a perfect bike holiday!
