My family and I look forward to welcoming you into the friendly environment of the Hotel Forsthofgut for an unforgettable biking and holiday experience. I myself am a keen biker and qualified mountain bike guide, so I was one of 8 hoteliers who, together with the Leogang lift company, set up the Leogang bike park.

Several times a week I show our biking hotel guests the nicest places, views, and the most rustic huts with the tastiest food in our bike region. I get support for the guided tours from the Leogang Bike School. Martin, Gerhard and Sabine are true bike professionals and will choose the best route appropriate to the individual biker, will give tips on riding technique, and will make sure everyone is safe in the terrain.

The numerous reports about Leogang as a top destination in mountain bike magazines, and the largest bike park in Europe, act as a magnet for bikers. In our hotel, 50% of summer guests are keen bikers. Many of them are regular guests, appreciating what we offer in our hotel. We create a perfect holiday experience for everyone, including non-biking companions.

I am available every day in the hotel for our guests, and will be pleased to help with tour planning. I know the tours in our region like the back of my hand, and always have a ready insider tip. For bikers who prefer to be independent, we have our own morning post with a suitable biking recommendation. Bike guests and guides share their experiences together at the weekly biker get-together.

Guided Tours
I lead the tours myself for our guests 2 or 3 times a week. This usually means rides with 1000 to 1500 vertical metres. The well-known Hundstein Tour is a special favourite. Martin, Gerhard and Sabine from the Bike School offer tours in several ability groups every day. A real experience for bikers seeking a little challenge is the 5 Gondola Tour “Grande Extrema”, leading through the Saalbach-Hinterglemm Bike Circus. On this technically difficult and physically demanding tour, you ride 1000 m up, and 5000 m down. My advice would be to use a full suspension bike, a freerider or Enduro.

Expert’s tip
I recommend doing the Talschlussrunde valley circuit with me as an introductory tour. I take you towards Spielberg to the source of the Leoganger Arche river. We take a break at the Discovery Park for the Senses at the mid station of the Asitz lift and get back to the hotel after about another 3 hours.
