Resident biker
Philipp Bohren knows every nook and cranny of the area. He knowa every hidden trail and the nicest spots in Grindelwald. Thanks to his advice, Kirchbühl bikers can ride where others have to push.
A warm welcome to the sporty heights and gastronomic pleasures!
Familie Brawand – Your hosts
The Brawand family have been looking after guests from near and far at
the foot of the north face of the Eiger for four generations. The location of
the hotel offers breathtaking views.
We have been a member of “Mountain Bike Holidays” since 2007 and are totally happy with it. We take pleasure in spoiling our “gourmet bikers” and families. We are well known for our gastronomy and we take to ensure that we also please those with refined tastes. We have hotel rooms with connecting doors for families and a large selection of different apartments in our surrounding chalets. The Kirchbühl breakfast buffet, with healthy, local produce, gives you a great start to your biking day.
Vera und Christian Brawand, your hosts, met each other in their ski instructor training. In the winter, whilst skiing, they are also often on the look out for new possible biking variations. Both are keen leisure bikers, mainly because of their 3 children, Aline, Silvie and Christian. They spend as much time as possible with them, some of which is on two wheels.
Philipp Bohren - our bike guide
Philipp Bohren is a local man and is a pioneer biker. As a qualified snow
sports instructor and a mountain bike guide, he knows from his many years of
experience what guests are looking for. He leads his tours with care and loves
exploring paths off the beaten track with guests.
The Grindelwald Mountainbike Arena
There are 160
km of marked mountain bike routes winding their way through the spectacular
landscape around Grindelwald. There is a suitable tour for everyone’s taste:
from easy to extreme, from leisurely to sporty, from family tours to the 88 km
marathon tour.
Christian Brawand (who is also a mountain rescue specialist, including on the North Wall of the Eiger, as well as being a hotelier) naturally gives his guests valuable tips, whether it be about biking or other activities.
