Hi, I am Andreas Prantl, 25 years old, and a Ötztaler from birth.
Because of my strong links with nature, I love all types of sport in the wonderful mountain environment of the Ötztaler Alps. Nature for me is the best way of feeling fulfilled, whether it be on ski tours in the winter or by foot or bike in the summer.

When I’m not on my bike in the summer, I’m working in the fields in one of the many alpine pastures, as I am an enthusiastic farmer when I am not indulging my passion of biking.

Since my childhood I have been a keen biker and then, three years ago, made my hobby to my career. Whether privately, all with guests, I am constantly on the 687 km of mountain bike trails in the Ötztal area. My favourites are the great downhill single trails in the region.

Four or five times a year I prove my ability; last year I took part in the Ötztal mountain bike marathon for the third time and completed it in under eight hours.

My biking Tip: start in Sölden, ride up to the Gaislachalm at about 1900 m, then on to the mid station of the Gaislachkogel (2176 m). Then take the track that is the “King’s stage” of the Germany tour up to the ever-lasting ice of the Rettenbach glacier (2900 m). Then on to the Rotkogeljochhütte and from there down to the most traditional hut in the valley, the GAMPE THAYA. Once you have refuelled on the best Kaiserschmarrn in the region, head back to Sölden on a single trail via Hochsölden.
