Resident biker
Conny and Beni, who run the hotel: ”Biking is our passion, and we’ve got a few insider tips!”
„moin“ (That’s
how the locals greet each other in Grindelwald.)
We, Conny and Beni Kaufmann, are both passionate mountain bikers and in any
spare time that we have, you’ll find us somewhere in the mountains. As
“seasoned mountain bikers” we used to spend, and still do spend, our free time
on the trails around Grindelwald. We can, thanks to our experience, advise you
well, and motivate you to do some tours. We will also gladly help you with any
technical hiccups, to make your bike rideable again.
Come as a friend, looking for pleasure and joie de vivre. A holiday in Lauberhorn is about lifestyle and not age. Leave your career title and social status at home and wear a smile instead.
Requirements for the fun
factor
You are sure to love Grindelwald, whether you’re a marathon biker, a tour
rider, or a performance and fitness oriented rider seeking to train with a
minimum of 1 to 2 hours ascent.
At the right time (during the day) or under the expert guidance of a local bike guide, you can experience the fantastic single trail descents, with a fairy tale mountain backdrop. There is a small bike park in an area of woodland by the upper glacier, where you can train your technique.
Guided tours
We offer guided bike
tours three times a week, in two ability groups. On Mondays there is a
technique training session followed by a little tour. On Wednesdays we go on an
easy and a semi-easy tour, and on Fridays it’s off onto the single trails,
offering challenges to the more experienced bikers.
I (Beni) take the technique training on Monday and you sometimes find me doing the single trail tour on Friday too. Having grown up in Grindelwald, I know every trail and can certainly give you advice when it comes to tour planning. The Jungfrau region is a huge playground for adults, so bring all your sports equipment and get active!
