Fun is paramount on the Flow Tour Grisons. The single trails are some of the most beautiful in Grisons: flowy, alpine, diverse and right through a varied mountain world. We use post buses and the Rhaetian Railways as shuttle for the many ascents in order to pack even more single trails on our daily mountain bike agenda.
Ready for your mountain bike multi day Flow Tour 2016?
Day 1: Chur – Lenzerheide – Wiesen – Tiefencastel – Lenzerheide
41 Km / 430 metres in altitude uphill / 2.240 metres in altitude downhill
Chur is the starting point of the Flow Tour Grisons. At the sophisticated bus terminal, you put your mountain bike on the rack at the rear of the bus service to Lenzerheide. The action starts after a mere half-hour already. Onto the bike in direction Tiefencastel, Muldain is where the trail fun really starts. The route leads to Lantsch and finally for a few metres on the road in direction Davos and continues slightly below the road to Brienz. The post bus takes you from here to Wiesen, downhill to the Landwasser Viaduct and back to Tiefencastel where the next post bus to Lenzerheide waits. Using the Bike Ticket Lenzerheide, you ride on the mountain railway to Scalottas and enjoy the beautiful view before racing downhill directly to the doorstep of the hotel.
Overnight stay at the Hotel Alpina ***, Parpan (Lenzerheide)
Day 2: Lenzerheide – Chur – Laax – Flims
45 Km / 440 metres in altitude uphill / 2.260 metres in altitude downhill
The second day of the Flow Tour means a ride across to Flims. The tour towards the Churwaldner Alps starts right behind the hotel. The fun starts with a downhill ride to Chur. At the train station, the bike is loaded onto the rack at the rear of the post bus which is the shuttle to Laax. You continue through the Flims Grosswald Forest on flowy single trails downhill to the River Rhine and then to the train station in Trin. The Rhaetian Railways take you to Ilanz and you continue by post bus to Laax. Either you head straight towards your hotel or take an additional round. You have opted for an additional round? Then you take the post bus to Falera. The mountain bike route leads from the small picturesque mountain village via Schluein downhill to Ilanz and then along the banks on the right side of the River Rhine to the station in Valendas. A short ascent leads you to Sagogn from where you take again the post bus to Laax. A wonderful wellness facility is waiting for you.
Day 3: Flims – Tamins – Chur
35 Km / 365 metres in altitude uphill / 1.620 metres in altitude downhill
The third Flow Tour day of the multi-day mountain bike tour starts high above Flims at the upper terminus Alp Naraus and leads across a few ascents to Chur. The day kicks-off with the Runca Trail which has received awards for its flow trail. The flow trail is a firm part of the tour. The Ruinaulta gets closer again. You enjoy stunning views from Conn across the canyon.
Single trails and forest roads lead through the wild and unspoilt landscape to Trin-Digg where you turn onto the Grisons Bike Route (route number 90). And when in Grisons something says ‘bike’ then there are mostly single trails to be expected. Just like on this section: the way back to Chur by mountain bike leads along the banks of the river.
